Pearl of the Day - 26th Dhū al-Qaʿda ذو القعدة

Significance of Offering Prayer at Mosque

Narrated Abu Hurairah(R.A): Allah's Apostle(P.B.U.H) said,

"The reward of the prayer offered by a person in congregation at mosque is twenty five times greater than that of the prayer offered in one's house or in the market (alone). And this is because if he performs ablution and does it perfectly and then proceeds to the mosque with the sole intention of praying, then for every step he takes towards the mosque, he is upgraded one degree in reward and his one sin is taken off (crossed out) from his accounts (of deeds). When he offers his prayer, the angels keep on asking Allah's blessings and Allah's forgiveness for him as long as he is (staying) at his Musalla. They say, 'O Allah! Bestow Your blessings upon him, be Merciful and kind to him.' And one is regarded in prayer as long as one is waiting for the prayer."

Sahih Al-Bukhari
[11:620]

Firstly, we have to offer prayers of a day regularly and timely.
As Qur'an The Majestic says:

فَإِذَا قَضَيْتُمُ الصَّلَاةَ فَاذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ قِيَامًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِكُمْ ۚ فَإِذَا اطْمَأْنَنتُمْ فَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ ۚ إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ كَانَتْ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ كِتَابًا مَّوْقُوتًا

"When you have finished As-Salat (the congregational prayer), remember Allah standing, sitting down, and (lying down) on your sides, but when you are free from danger, perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat). Verily, As-Salat (the prayer) is enjoined on the believers at fixed hours."
          (An-Nisa, Chapter #4, Verse #103)

Then, we have to pray properly(not lazily) and especially look for one thing, If we are praying for Allah Almighty or just bothering to get seen by people. If we are praying for Allah Almighty than it's alright but if not then we should have to think of this verse of Qur'an,

"Verily, the hypocrites seek to deceive Allah, but it is He Who deceives them. And when they stand up for As-salat (the prayer), they stand with laziness and to be seen of men, and they do not remember Allah but little".
          ( An-Nisa, Chapter :4, Verse :103)

One thing is for sure, If we really have good level of Eman. Then it'll be very easy and pleasureful for us to perform As-Salat (prayer) because we'll be happy to talk to our Lord Almighty Allah but if we don't have that deep faith, it'll be so hard and heavy task for us.
As Qur'an The Majestic says:

وَاسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلَاةِ ۚ وَإِنَّهَا لَكَبِيرَةٌ إِلَّا عَلَى الْخَاشِعِينَ

" And seek help in patience and As-Salât (the prayer) and truly it is extremely heavy and hard except for Al-Khâshi'ûn [i.e. the true believers in Allâh - those who obey Allâh with full submission, fear much from His Punishment, and believe in His Promise (Paradise,) and in His Warnings (Hell, )]. "
                    (Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #45)

Then come importance of offering prayer in mosque which is so clear from this Pearl of the day. I think, it's so definite to go to mosque for prayer as when we get together in mosque for Salat, we meet our friends and brothers in Islam and share our thing. In this way Mosque is a source of our getting together five times a day.
